I founded Clean Break as a way to give back to others who, like me, hope to find more meaning and purpose, take a break from alcohol and create a happier, healthier, more connected way of living.
Through 1-2-1 lifestyle and mindset coaching, combined with tailored running plans, I work with you to overcome limiting beliefs, remove destructive behaviors and negative thought patterns, and to fulfill your true heroic potential.
For over 20 years, I worked in the alcohol industry, unaware that my relationship with alcohol, the thing which I thought was giving me fulfillment, was in fact making me miserable.
I thought it defined me, and that without it, life would be boring and bleak. It wasn’t until I took a clean break from booze that I discovered it was in fact holding me back. I’d been trapped and didn’t realise how much it was impacting every area of my life.  
Running & going alcohol-free have been the two most transformational things in my life in recent years. Combined with being coached myself, they have helped me to overcome my fears, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs, and have helped me make positive progress towards becoming the best version of myself and the person I truly want to be.
From facing my own version of rock bottom, they have helped me build confidence, self-belief, healthy values, physical & mental resilience, and have led to finding more meaning & purpose in my life.
I created Clean Break as a health and lifestyle practice that makes running & taking a break from booze simple, enjoyable, and exhilarating.

Rich offers both group & 1:1 coaching, based on your goals, needs and requirements. From group 5-10k programs to 12-week full body, mind & lifestyle transformations, he can help you achieve your goals and build a life that suits you. 
A little guidance and motivation is all that is needed. Whether that’s in a group environment with both 5k & 10k options available or 1-2-1 coaching, you’re in the right place.

1:1 coaching

I offer bespoke 1:1 coaching for those looking to make the jump from 10k to ultra-marathon, seeking a Clean Break from alcohol or embarking on a full 12-week mind, body and lifestyle transformation.  

Group coaching

With the group coaching – running, midset & alcohol-free – sessions, you’ll have weekly calls on a Monday evening, recieve access to a group what’s app & follow a structured & proven plan to check in on progress and keep you accountable. 

Couch to ultra

Heard of Couch to 5k? Well we’ve supercharged that with our couch to ultra program, designed for those new to running who are keen to take on the ultimate running transformation.
